The Kenya Urban Support Programme Phase II (KUSP II) has commenced infrastructure delivery across 45 small and medium towns, marking the largest rollout under the programme to date.
Works include road rehabilitation, drainage improvements, market upgrades, and solid waste management systems, implemented in partnership with county governments who retain responsibility for ongoing maintenance.
The programme continues to strengthen urban governance capacity alongside physical works, with county teams receiving training in participatory planning, revenue management, and climate-resilient infrastructure design.
